Christina Simon is a 2023 Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee and the former nonfiction editor and the "Letter to L.A." editor for Angels Flight Literary West, an online literary publication and curator of author salons at The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles. Her publication in The New Ohio Review will be included in the anthology Essay Form(s), edited by Jill Talbot (forthcoming from Columbia University Press). Her essays have been featured in Salon, The Offing, Columbia Journal, (winner of the Black History Month Contest for Nonfiction 2020), Electric Lit, The New Ohio Review, Cleaver Magazine, Another Chicago Magazine, PANK Magazine’s Heath and Healing Folio, Proximity’s blog True, Entropy and Barren Magazine. Christina received her B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and her M.A. from UCLA. She is a volunteer with Write Girl L.A. where she helps kids write their college essays. Christina lives with her husband and two French Bulldogs in Los Angeles. She misses her son who is away at college and her daughter who lives in NYC.
Christina is also the co-author of "Beyond The Brochure: An Insider's Guide To Private Elementary Schools In Los Angeles" which has been featured on the BBC, 89.3 KPCC and in The Daily Beast, Los Angeles Magazine, The Huffington Post, The Hollywood Reporter and other publications.
Christina's articles have also been published in CSQ Magazine, The LA Weekly, The Huffington Post, Mom.com, Scary Mommy, LA Parent and other places.
